What is Constant Battle?

Constant Battle is an online combat game that is played entirely through sound and speech. Every place, enemy and object has its own audio, so you can find your way, aim and react without seeing a screen.

Many players share the same world at once. You can team up, fight each other in arenas, hunt monsters, run a business, or just walk the avenue and chat.

What you can do

Fight

Use a wide range of weapons against monsters and other players. Battle in the arenas, gain experience, and level up. Pacifist mode keeps you out of fights when you want a quiet session. Double XP events run from time to time.

Explore

Walk a large world of maps. Ride boats and lifts, watch out for quicksand, and listen for machines, objects and bonus items that show you where you are.

Live in the world

Buy an apartment, use the bank, shop, grab a snack, or try the casino. Visit the water park with its sound-based rides, collect Splash Points and take on the daily challenge.

Talk and trade

Use public, team, local and private chat, and send voice messages. Give items to other players with the trade command. Each kind of message goes to its own buffer, so you can review it with your screen reader.

Play safely

Staff and Instructors moderate the game. Mutes, jail time and bans always state a reason and a duration. You can open a support ticket from inside the game and get the answer by e-mail.

Keep your account safe

Log in with an e-mail code, and mark your own computer as trusted. Reset a forgotten password, change your e-mail, or rename your character once a day. Switch between your characters with Shift+F8.

Where the game comes from

Desafio Mortal was an audiogame made by Renova Games. It has been discontinued and is no longer available. Many players loved it, and Constant Battle exists because some of them wanted that style of game to stay playable.

Constant Battle is a separate, community-run project. It is inspired by Desafio Mortal and credits it as its origin. It is not a continuation, a successor or an official version of that game.

The game's features, code and sound system were written independently by the Freegames team. No source code from Renova Games is used.

Download problems

Windows or my antivirus blocks or deletes the download

The game is a small independent program and is not digitally signed, so Windows SmartScreen and some antivirus programs may warn about it. This is a false alarm that is common for hobby software. If you trust the source, choose "More info" and then "Run anyway", or add the game folder to your antivirus exceptions. If you are not comfortable with that, do not install it.

The game starts but I hear nothing

The sound libraries in the lib folder are missing. Extract the archive again and keep all folders next to bc.exe.

The game cannot connect to the server

The first connection can take up to 30 seconds, so wait before trying again. If it still fails, check that your firewall allows UDP port 6789, and try another network. If the problem stays, tell us the exact message you hear.

The download does not start or stops half way

Try again later, use a different browser, or pause your download manager. If it keeps failing, send us a message from the contact section with your browser and the error you see.

The game updates itself from our server, so you only download it once.

Contact

The fastest way to reach staff is a support ticket inside the game. Answers arrive in the game and by e-mail.
